JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC
JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC injectable gel is for injection into the lips for lip augmentation and for correction of perioral lines, often called “lipstick lines” in adults over the age of 21.
JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC
JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC is an injectable gel that temporarily adds more fullness and plumps thin lips—whether your lips have thinned over time or you simply want fuller lips—in adults over the age of 21. JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC is also approved for smoothing and correcting moderate to severe parentheses lines, such as nasolabial folds (smile lines around the nose and mouth), in adults.
Dermal Filler Pre-appointment Instructions
DO NOT:
- Take anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible for a period of 1 week before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.
- Drink alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment because this increases your risk of bruising
DO:
- Work out before your appointment if you want to work out the day of your injections
- Let the office know if you are pregnant, breast feeding, or have a history of fever blisters/ cold sores. Injections around your mouth may cause a flare of fever blisters and your provider may want to prescribe a medication for you to take before your injections
- Fill out your medical history/ new patient paperwork before your appointment
- Be sure to have a good meal, including food and drink before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.
- Schedule your filler appointment at least two weeks before a special event. If you bruise, you want time for the bruises to heal.
- Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore or blemish in the direct area to be injected.
