The Importance of water intake
I know I need to get in the habit of drinking more water and keeping myself hydrated but exactly how much water should you drink per day?
Our bodies are made up of about 60% water. With digestion, absorption, circulation, salvia creation, transporting nutrients and maintaining our body temperature being all functions that rely on your water intake, it is important to keep up with how much water you drink.
While our bodies are constantly losing water when we sweat and use the restroom, it is recommended for one to drink eight, 8 oz. glasses of water per day. That is the equivalent to 2 liters and half of a gallon!
Benefits of Drinking Water
• Increase of energy
• Helps protect delicate tissues in your body
• Relieves fatigue
• Helps you focus and concentrate better while being more alert
• Keeps your joins cushioned and lubricated
• Promotes weight loss
• Flushes unwanted toxins and removes waste
• Improves complexion of your skin
• Keeps your body at a steady regulated temperature
One of the benefits listed above stated that water intake improves skins complexion. This is true but I wanted to go more into detail how water can affect the skin. Without the proper amount of water, skin can appear dull while wrinkles and pore size can appear more prominent. With proper hydration, water helps the skin to become plumper with improvement in elasticity with the likelihood of less breakouts, irritations, problems, and concerns.
With your skin cells constantly being exposed to the type of environment you surround, it is essential to keep your skin overly hydrated to maintain that healthy glowing look of your skin!
Can you drink too much water?
It is VERY rare if you are a healthy individual eating a regular diet, but it CAN happen. This is uncommon but something that someone might experience if your kidney’s cannot excrete the extra water where the sodium in your blood content is diluted. If this is something you are experiencing please consult your health care provider.
But not to worry! Water is one of the most important substances on this earth and is there for us to survive. So of course it is good for us! Just like plants need water to flourish, our bodies do too!
Drinking more water flushes out toxins from your body. The more water you drink the better your kidneys will work. Your kidneys play a big role in filtering out waste from our blood, so the more you drink, the more toxins can be eliminated. The more you drink, the better you will feel.
CHEERS and enjoy your water!
