HALO is much more than just a Beyonce song. It is one of the best laser resurfacing treatments offered today. Thanks to modern technology, you no longer have to go under the knife to have beautiful skin.
What is the HALO treatment?
HALO is the first ever hybrid fractional laser treatment in the world. It delivers both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths into the skin, making it highly effective for resurfacing yet still very comfortable for the patient. The ablative laser vaporizes the tissue and physically destroys it during the treatment. The non-ablative laser causes an internal thermal injury within the skin which coagulates the tissue. Since the dermis stays intact, the skin is still able to heal and repair itself after the treatment even with the tissue being destroyed. The combination of creating those thermal injuries as well as physically destroying the tissue allows the skin to be resurfaced and remodeled with little to no downtime or discomfort.
What are the benefits of the HALO treatment?
As we age naturally and expose ourselves to the environment more, our skin starts to reflect that. The HALO fractional laser is one of the most effective resurfacing and anti aging treatments we offer at our Med Spa. It can correct many skin conditions such as:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Hyperpigmentation
- Rosacea
- Skin laxity
- Acne scarring
- Actinic keratosis
- Enlarged pores
What can I expect after the treatment?
Since we are introducing the skin to so much heat and energy during the treatment, it is normal to feel extremely hot once it is finished, and can linger for 24 hours or so. You can also expect to be moderately red as well for the first couple of days. After about 48-72 hours, the MENDs (microscopic epithelial necrotic debris) start to surface and slough off. The skin can peel anywhere from 1-7 days, but even if no peeling occurs, that doesn’t mean the treatment wasn’t effective.
