Women and men all around the world have hair on some part of the body. Waxing and shaving can be expensive and time consuming, only to have it grow back within a few days. My favorite option for those pesky follicles is laser hair reduction at L Aesthetics and Longevity in Bee Cave, Texas. The staff here is very knowledgeable and takes time to walk you through the process. If you have ever wondered what the laser hair removal process is like, then read on.
Laser hair removal, a non-invasive treatment, is nearly pain-free with virtually no downtime after the procedure. The laser targets the pigment melanin in the root of the hair follicle and therefore reduces the hair growth. A typical treatment plan usually includes six treatments spaced four to 8 weeks apart depending on the
body area, as well as skin and hair type.
First, you will be asked to fill out a Fitzpatrick skin type questionnaire. This is the system that classifies skin type according to the amount of pigment your skin has and your skin’s reaction to sun exposure. Arguably the most important factor in your laser hair removal journey is your skin type. Unlike many other places, most people are candidates for laser hair removal at our facility. L Aesthetics and Longevity is committed to using the most cutting edge and state-of-the-art technologies and techniques to get you your best result.
You will be asked about your recent sun exposure or spray tanning. We ask that you have had no active sun exposure or self tanner for two weeks, or if you are very tan already, we prefer to wait until some of your tan has faded. Fall and winter are the perfect times of the year for Laser Hair Reduction treatments! You will also be asked to shave the area that we are treating the night before you come in. Waxing or plucking are NOT acceptable during your treatments as we want to have hair IN the follicle when you are treated for the best result.
The day of your treatment at L Aesthetics and Longevity you will be brought back to the laser room. You and the technician will wear glasses that protect your eyes from the beam of the laser. It is important that you both wear these glasses throughout the entire treatment. The area will be cleaned if you have any lotion or deodorant on. We apply gel to the area to help with conduction of the laser
beam and then the treatment begins! You will feel a quick zap which has been described like the snap of a rubber band. It is very quick and the mild discomfort goes away almost immediately. After the session is over, we apply sunscreen on the area if it is going to be exposed, like on the face or arms, and then you are ready to go home!
We have individual session pricing or if you are looking for a package, all of our packages at L Aesthetics and Longevity are competitively priced. Call us at 512-505-8645 to get started with your Laser Hair Reduction treatments.
