Self Care

We all can agree; the unprecedented time the we all face, this crisis we all currently relate to has left us with a sense of uncertainty, worry, and stress. We have been living this “new normal” which has kept all of us on our toes. Anxiously waiting “for the the world to change” and wondering what we are going to face next. During this time, we do have to remember to take care of ourselves. Rather then fighting things we cannot control, be mindful and focus on what you can do to be the best you; you can be, for yourself and people that surround you. To live a healthy life, you have to maintain a healthy mind, body, and soul.

What does that look like?

Keeping a balanced diet

It is hard, especially during this time to not binge eat, or find the most convenient thing to stuff our faces with. However nourishing your body has a lot to do with how you feel.

A healthy diet doesn’t mean you have to starve yourself. Find the right amount of fruits, veggies, and lean meats that work for you. Remember to stay hydrated. Hydration is key to cleansing your body and refueling your mind.

Exercise

Find what you like to do and stick with it. Whether is it 15 minutes a day or 1 hour a day. To the stop sign and back, or a mile run. Exercising regularly is one of the best things you can do for your body and mind. It is a fact that when you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins. When endorphins are released they interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain. This gives you a

“good” feeling and keeping that regulated with a routine will keep you going.

Relax your mind

With so much uncertainty in the world it can be difficult not to panic. Practicing mindfulness and routine work, can help ease the mind and keep yourself calm. Finding your best coping strategy and maintaining practice takes work, but once you master it, you will finally feel still. Take time out of each day to rest. Relax the mind of everything trying to distract you and just center yourself to be in the moment. In that moment you will wash away everything and just focus on the now. Everything else can wait. Everyone is in such a rush, that in times like today, we are forced to focus on the present. Now is a great time to start practicing breathe, meditation, and peace.

Take time to reset, refuel, and live your best life. i
