Scared of pain during some of our laser procedures? Well, we have something that can help! ProNox is a system that can help ease anxiety, and therefore pain, during some of our uncomfortable procedures. ProNox delivers a gas through a mouthpiece that is made up of 50% nitrous oxide and 50% oxygen. They have been using this for years in the labor and delivery rooms, so be assured that it is completely safe. It is self-administered, so you are in full control! Before the procedure starts, your provider will advise to take a couple deep breaths, and then usually one will start to feel the effects in a couple of seconds! Breathing should be continuous, as the effect only lasts for a couple of minutes. This is a benefit however, so you do not have to worry about long term side effects throughout the day. As a warning, some people may feel a little dizzy and nauseous during the first couple of breaths, but if you slow down your breathing, it should pass! I wo
