Hormone Replacement Therapy

It is known that as we age, both men and women produce less and less hormones. With this comes symptoms of fatigue, weight gain, hormonal imbalances, irritability, and loss of libido or erectile dysfunctions. With hormone replacement therapy you can restore natural hormonal levels and help you feel the best you!
What is BioTE?
BioTE is a hormone replacement therapy that uses pellets, which are in the shape of tiny cylindrical- supplements that are inserted into your skin. These pellets release doses of hormones throughout periods of time, depending on your specific concerns and needs. Based on your lab results, our provider will determine the dose of hormones needed to be inserted.
How does it work?
At the time of your appointment, you are in clinic at most 30 minutes. It is a quick, easy, and painless procedure. The pellet insertion method is done with a small incision subcutaneously in the upper buttocks/hip area. The area is sterilized, numbed, closed with sterile tape, and then covered with a bandage. After insertion you cannot submerge this area under water for three days and will have to refrain from any workout or activity that really uses your glut muscles. After those three days, you can go about your business and enjoy feeling good!
How long does it take for the pellets to start working?
Each patient is different, though on average it takes about 3-4 weeks to get the full effect and within a week of having your pellets inserted the process will begin. You can get pellets reinserted every 3-4 months before you start to notice your unwanted symptoms coming back. After six weeks from the time of insertion, you will come back into our clinic for a post lab draw to make sure everything is balancing out correctly.
