Sofwave is a relatively new device in the US and is this year’s Elle Magazine “Future of Beauty” award winner. It is a non-surgical noninvasive treatment to lift and tighten saggy skin and treat wrinkles using ultrasound. The best part is there is no downtime! Really! Today I want to share my personal experience with Sofwave.
A few months ago, I was the model for a Sofwave demonstration on the forehead and under the chin area. I was not expecting much since I had never heard of this device, but boy was I wrong! A couple months after the quick treatment, my drooping under chin skin was no longer flapping in the wind and my eyebrows were higher.
Before the treatment I sat with numbing cream on for about 40 minutes and then this was wiped off and ultrasound gel was applied. An applicator was placed on my skin for 5 seconds at a time and just as it was getting pretty darn hot, the device administered cooling to the area (Yay!) and then the applicator was moved to another spot. The treatment lasted about 30 minutes and I would say that it was only uncomfortable for one second out of every 5 seconds.
After it was done, the ultrasound gel was wiped away and sunscreen was applied. That was it! No greasy ointments to apply, no special skin care. I could work out immediately after (I didn’t) and there were no other limitations to my actions such as swimming, alcohol, etc.
Since I was going out to dinner right after the treatment, I put on some make up and went on my merry way. There was no tingling, pain, or burning afterwards. No redness or swelling that I could see.
All I had to do then was wait. After 2 weeks, I thought I could already see a difference in my eyebrows and my coworkers agreed. By 2 months I could definitely see a big difference. My eyelids looked more open and I no longer had the droopy skin hanging under my chin.
I am so happy with the results that I just did another Sofwave treatment to myself last weekend. I treated my stomach skin and my full face and neck. I can’t wait to see the results in 2 to 3 months!
